A touch of Burberry - Christmas Special

3 more sleeps till Christmas Day!!!  Christmas is huge in my family and for the first time in 29 years I won't be flying home to spend it with my family in New Zealand. To make myself happy I thought I would let Santa know all the things I wanted and then send his elf out with my credit card to buy them, so to sum it up my xmas tree has many presents for Tygalilly and I under it.

My last outfit post for 2012 is this amazing little dress by Maurie and Eve, it's just such a beautiful print and the mesh peplum adds an almost sporty vibe to it, which I adore. Another thing I'm loving are these avaiators by burberry. I love their simplicity, shape, colour and how they have no logo on the lense. Burberry sunglasses varify in styles and the collections range from vibrant and bold, so in conclusion they have a widerange to shop! Something drew me to these all black, sleek avaiators and I find they are perfect final touch to most outifts. Now it's off to a pre christmas BBQ.

Sunset stripes - Christmas Special

Stripes on stripes, gotta love this look! This is such a fun outfit for summer as it caters for all festive events and can be transformed from casual to evening so easily. Never be shy to mix prints with prints and spots and strips together, I love the effect the different sized stripes and colours produce. Both these pieces are great staples for your wardrobe and can be worn with almost anything, so have fun experimenting with double prints.

Prints Combine - Christmas Special

This is another post showing another way of wearing double prints. I love a subtle print clash, meaning both items I'm wearing have a pattern on them, however both patterns are different and don't match. Simple and sophisticated dressing to me over summer is a shirt and high waisted shorts, it's just such a feminine look. If you don't see yourself as a print clash kinda girl, then don't sweat... both these pieces would look great on their own and paired with plain colours.

Lounge in Lime - Christmas Special

Are you also finding that you're addicted to neon colours this summer? if so, then you need to get your hands one this beautiful dress by El Sol Mar. It's the perfect beach cover up and has the cutest pom pom like fringing that is such a great touch to this already beautifully cut dress. I found on my trip to Fiji that I wore and wore this dress, it's such a simple throw on piece and looks great with every colour sandal, which makes for fun styling. There is something about this colour that makes me instantly feel healthy and confidant, it gives you an automatic glow.

Under an umbrella - Christmas Special

So while in Fiji, My friend and fab Fiji photographer Airlie and I kayaked out to a sandbar, it took us about 40 mins but was well worth it as you can see by these images. On arrival to the sandbar we got talking to some locals who were there to set up for a wedding once the tide had gone out further, Airlie jumped on the idea of using the classic white umbrella as our prop and also one of the locals who was more then happy to take part in our shoot.

This fab bright print bikini is from a label Seventh wonderland and was a gift from the beautiful girls at The Iconic and they have just starting stocking this fab brand. Not only do I love the vibrant colours on this print but also the actual design of the bikini, it was super comfortable and had a great new inventive back.

A girl can never have enough bikinis!

Strapped back - Christmas Special

Another incredible dress to get you through the party season and it comes with a super low price tag. I recently came upon this company "Boohoo" middle of the year and safe to say it consumes alot of my spare time as I have too much fun shopping this site and always get a shock after adding so much to my shopping chart and the end total being such a bargain.
This dress with it's body con look makes for a comfortable fit, it's black panelling at the side creates a flattering look and the back detailing is just beyond beautiful. Pump up the colours in your accessories, wear bold coloured shoes, lips or nails to add your own flair. Don't be affraid to mix pink and red like I've done.

Palm tree - Christmas Special

Nothing screams "summer holiday" more then a palm tree print dress and it's time you got into the palm tree trend with this gorgeous  shirt dress by Premonition. I felt it suitable to shoot this against a palm tree and kept all accsessories minimal and just went with a black hat, however this shirt dress looks stnning belted at the waist for a more evening look and open with denim shorts for a relaxed beach look.

Hammock Heaven - Christmas Special

This summer it's not all about the print colours and prints when  it comes to bikinis, make sure you stock up your swimmers and add a great pastel number to the mix. There is something so beautiful about a great pastel coloured bikini, it screams simple beauty. The stunning soft tones in the O'Neill bikini had me at first sight and to keep in with its fabulous colours I matched my sunglasses with the print.

All these pieces in this post are great stocking fillers, for loved ones or yourself! haha

Sun kissed - Christmas Special

You can't go past a great leopard print!  My wardrobe is full of many leopard prints as they can vary in shapes, sizes and colours. This stunning maxi is by Camilla & Marc and has the most elegant back detailing to it and the colours that are entwined in the leopard are both feminine and classic. A perfect dress to take you through summer.

Don't forget the best accessory over summer is a fab hat, the help protect from UV whilst also looking super stylish. This hat is from Sportsgirl so super affordable.

Evacuate

In aid of what has happened recently in both Samoa and Fiji, I wanted to post a blog with information to contact loved ones and also donate to help rebuild homes that were damaged due to category 5 Cyclone Evan. As most of you know I was in Fiji at the time of Cyclone Evan, here is my story.

Sunday 16th December - We were officially evacuated from Malololailai today at around 1.30pm! As we were staying in a private house on the hill we hadn't received notice that the Fijian government had officially announced a full evacuation, once we had received this information all boats had gone, the only way to leave the island was via helicopter or start bunkering down within the compound. We were able to get a helicopter to the mainland Nadi, but may I assure you that with clouds getting blacker by the second caused emotions to run wild and knowing that we were escaping one island we still had to get to the mainland and find a hotel with rooms available to seek shelter.

Once we had landed at the airport, Airlie and I who had a flight booked for the following day, thought we would try our luck on getting on a flight immediately whilst others in our party, not set to leave for another week or so, went and stocked up on water and food and found a safe hotel to bunker down in. The Nadi International airport was back to the brim with Holiday makers and Schoolies alike all trying to vacate prior to the cyclone. Supplementary flights were put on, as all planes needed to leave Fiji and seek safety in closer countries, after a 2.5 hour wait in the queue at the airport Airlie and I were able to get on one of the supplementary flights going to New Zealand at 7.10pm that night. With flights being cancelled I can assure you that it was indeed a very nervous wait, but 8.30pm our plane was ready to leave. I finally touched down in Sydney, Monday at 9am and spent the day and night researching and tracking Cyclone Evan and keep my friends in Fiji updated with it's destructive path and also taking it into my own hands to update their facebook pages and message loved ones to let them know they were ok.

Now thankfully cyclone evan has passed, but has left Fiji worse for wear. As I go back and edit photo's for my blog, it saddens me to know that the house and location I shot at is now flooded and vegetation destroyed.
